An astronaut still adrift

Writer's picture: Dhruv BarotDhruv Barot

Adrift above the cosmos,

there floats an astronaut

untethered:

a discovery, a datapoint,

just one, either-or,

to send back home,

back to Earth. Let

our astronaut be found

rewriting.

adrift above the cosmos,

there floats our astronaut

untethered.

Logging hour by hour

the days passing away,

a fever sizing up

the temperatures of stars. All the ink dried—

stationery.

Our astronaut floats there,

adrift above the cosmos,

untethered.If our astronaut sneezed,

just one big sneeze—

our astronaut launched home

back to Earth; yet,

out there, an astronaut

still adrift.
